Ayuub
Ayuub is a common rhythm, played through the Middle East. Often referrred to as a Zar.

Karachi
A rhythm common to Egypt and North Africa, Karachi is strange in that it starts with a Tek.

Malfuf
Malfuf is a wonderful rhythm with some fun possibilities.

Beladi
Baladi is probably the most well known rhythm in the West.

Maqsum
A rhythm common throughout the Middle East, maqsum forms the basis for much Arabic music.

Saidi
Saidi is commonly played upbeat and powerfully. This is a wonderful rhythm for working with dancers.

Super Saidi
Super Saidi is a series of 4 variations on Saidi, played together in sequence.

Waahida
"Waahid" meaning "one" in Arabic, the name "Waahida" is easily understood for this rhythm.

Darj
The namesake of Out of the Darj, this rhythm is often played with a syncopated or swing feel.

Chiftitelli
Chiftitelli is wonderful played at a slow tempo.

Masmoudi
Also called Masmoudi Kabir to differentiate it from Beladi, kabir meaning large or big.

2/4 - Ayuub

Ayuub ranges from being played very slowly to very quickly. Typically, when playing for dancers, the rhythm will be played quite fast. One great use of the rhythms is in a Zar (trance) dance, where it can be started very slowly and worked into a frenzy.
